What have you been waiting for 100% certainty about before making your move?The biggest cost in life isn’t being right or wrong; it is the time you waste trying to make a decision. In the time you spend waiting to make your decision, often an opportunity passes you by.
Part of the success we and so many of my clients have experienced today, has been the ability to take a leap of faith. The idea to run the experiment today to find the winnable action.
The challenges have been our inability to be a quitter, to experiment with a concept, a strategy, a property, a job and make a change when it’s not serving me. Most people need certainty to make a change, but in this world it is unlikely to achieve that. We may get 51% certainty or 60% but the only way of achieving 100% certainty is through hindsight.
There are two types of decisions in life: consequential irreversible and type 2 decisions, which are doors we can walk back through. Ninety-nine per cent of decisions in life are type 2 decisions, but we treat them as type 1! So, our lives slip away through indecision and procrastination.
So many people are feeling lost at the moment, struggling with the changing world we are in, the cost of living pressures, and increased interest rate pressures. The trick in these times is to keep moving forward to not become stagnant and fearful of moving forward due to uncertainty. Our lives are uncertain, and we can be 100% confident of that, but sitting on the fence and waiting for the perfect timing will see us go nowhere, learn nothing, risk nothing, but gain nothing!
In life, action is your way forward. Action will provide you with feedback and knowledge of the way forward! Action will create results. Results provide feedback on what to rinse and repeat and what to let go of!
The greatest gift in life is time. Are you wasting your time to take the winnable action by allowing uncertainty to dictate your results?
